HISTORY

Education is the best gift that parents can give to their children. It is the greatest wealth one can attain and is a necessity in today's world. It is a wealth that gives satisfaction and saves you from destruction.

The holistic development of an individual and community largely depends on its education. The major population of the locality is illiterate, uneducated, and largely self-employed at low-profile levels, which barely allows them to make ends meet. It is a well-established fact that the youths are real change maker, but unfortunately, they are misguided due to lack of knowledge and awareness.

FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION recognized the problem areas, the solution, and the means to achieve it. The solution lies in training the younger generation in the field of education and thus increasing their employability to generate enough capital to change living standards. Meanwhile, inculcating in them the true spirit of striving hard to uplift the marginalized and deprived communities.

The school is situated at the side of Asuragarh- Chakulia Road, 8 KM away from NH-31(Kolkata to Guwahati) about 15 Km away from Kishanganj, Bihar, and around 100 km away from the lush green valley of Darjeeling and has been set up with the aim and objective to nurture the students in such a way that they could grow up in an atmosphere where there is peace, healthy climate, diverse culture. Apart from imparting quality education, the teaching objective is to instil duty, dedication, discipline in the new generation to excel in every field and stage of life.

Bengal International School is an English medium and day cum boarding school, that came into existence in 2019, in response to the long-standing pressing need for an English Medium School in the area. The school promotes quality education irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion and social status.

Bengal International School receives no Government or private aid/funds, but it is financed by Friends International Foundation's members and the fee charged from students is the only source of Income. The fee structure is revised time to time to provide better facilities to the students and teachers and for the better function of the institution.
